Youth Entrepreneurship Placement Programs (YEPP) Active

16-week paid work placement, online course and professional development days where companies and youth (18-29) both apply either as a pre-made match or to be matched. The youth becomes an employee of the company who mentors them in an effort to move business growth projects forward, IION delivers the training  and the wage subsidy.

Applications open in February 2018 and matches must be made by March 31, 2018.
Company is responsible to cover employer’s portion of wage (CPP, EI, WSIB), provide a T4 slip and wage top up to meet provincial standards.

IMII’s Operationalizing Innovations Program is designed to support projects, with the aim of technology development and demonstration - putting them on the path to commercialization.  The objective is to see a solution developed, demonstrated and available for adoption and use by the minerals industry.

Developing Innovations Active

IMII’s Developing Innovations Program projects aim to advance applied research and development (R&D) with the following objectives:

  • Having the characteristics of a solution to an industry need described and ready for technology development; and
  • Validating or demonstrating the potential of emerging technology to solve minerals sector-specific problems.

Exploring Innovations Active

IMII’s Exploring Innovations Program projects are meant to advance the “next generation” and “future mines” innovations of the minerals industry.  With this program, IMII is seeking to:

  • Seed potentially transformational research & development;
  • Explore the potential of emerging technology to generate new innovations through applied research projects; and
  • Explore and understand emerging technology that could be adapted or adopted for use by the minerals industry.
