The Lands and Minerals Sector (LMS), part of Natural Resources Canada (NRCan), uses its scientific, policy and economic expertise to:
- Ensure that mineral and natural resource development remains a source of opportunity and prosperity for Canadians;
- Build the foundation for modern lands governance that supports Canada's economy, sustains the environment, and advances our standard of living; and
- Work with governments, communities, civil society and the private sector to anticipate, prevent and/or manage natural and anthropogenic risks.
