Cold Climate Innovation Active
Innovation funding supports applied research, development and enhancement of applications and opportunities of cold climate, and technology innovations. Our funding provides seed money to help individuals and businesses establish partnerships and leverage funding from other sources for the development of innovative cold climate, and other, technology applications.

Northern Energy Active
The applied research program is established to address the needs of the northern Canadian energy industry. Through academic partnerships with all three colleges in the Canadian territories, the industry-driven program is driven by the consensus of all four electric power utilities in the Canadian territories. The pertinent engineering research areas have been identified as:
- Integration of renewable energy into isolated community grids,
- Energy storage,
- Diesel efficiencies,
- Independent energy valuation,
- Residential and utility partnership, and
- Demand side management.
