The Mineral Processing Group at CanmetMINING is pleased to announce the publication of the paper, "Optimization of Supercritical Fluid Extraction of Rare Earth Elements from Complex Ores Using a Tributyl Phosphate-Nitric Acid Adduct," in ACS Sustainable Chemistry & Engineering. Authored by Maziar E. in collaboration with researchers from the University of Toronto, this study introduces an eco-friendly method for extracting rare earth elements from Canadian ore concentrates. During testing, the process achieved near-complete extraction efficiency while minimizing hazardous waste. This research highlights the potential of Supercritical Fluid Extraction as a sustainable technology for rare earth element extraction, contributing to global sustainability initiatives.
