CANGUIDE is a new technology in development at CanmetMINING, led by Ian Bedard and conceived by Yan Germain, Daniel Côté, and Louis Germain. CANGUIDE will allow for real-time, remote monitoring of mine hoist guide infrastructure by using sensors to detect anomalies within the infrastructure. This technology is designed to support regulatory mine hoist inspections. CANGUIDE was recently granted patents within Canada and the United States and onsite underground demonstration testing in collaboration with Point Laz is planned for the near future.
